Conserving across the community

The original “We are in this together” handout describes the city’s response to the 2015 drought:

  • Activating the water emergency plan and conservation restrictions.
  • Forming a Drought Action Team with other local water agencies.
  • Expanding outreach to households and utility customers.
  • Promoting turf removal and water-saving equipment.
  • Adjusting facility operations and reducing irrigation around city buildings and parkways.

The handout also describes earlier investments in water infrastructure, supply planning and conservation education.
